| The bad old days |
| Under communist rule, Budapest was the recipient of many unwanted gifts
of statues to memorilize communist leaders and "heroes". Once free,
the statues were carted off and placed in a field outside of town. Recently
a park was created to exhibit these statues. Perhaps so that the bad old

| And then there was the House of Terror on Andrassy street. This museum housed in the same building that served as headquarters of the dreaded AVH secret police. Hundreds died in this building, many deaths listed as "suicides". Photos are not allowed inside the building.
